In the fall of 2006, as students began preparing for another school year, I prayerfully considered the possibility of Calvary United Pentecostal Church housing a Christian school to serve as an alternative to those who desired a more bible-based education for their children. As a father and pastor, I was burdened by the growing secular influence on our school-aged children and wanted to provide a more wholesome and uplifting environment for their education.
In February 2007, when I cast this burden before our local congregation, I learned that many other families shared my concerns. Parents and students alike were energized by the possibility of a private, apostolic school where they could develop both academically and spiritually. Now our challenge was making this a reality.
Many people stepped up to offer financial support and positive encouragement. Approvals from state agencies and renovations to our church's facility enabled our school to come to fruition.
A host of qualified peoople were selected to form our school board and faculty and before the 2007-2008 school year began, Calvary Education Center was up and running. Though many challenges lie ahead, CEC serves as a landmark for the determination of God's people to educate our children in spirit and truth. Implementing a state-of-the-art, personalized computer curriculum ensures that our children succeed professionally; and maintaining high biblical standards makes certain they thrive spiritually.
We count on this website to secure that Calvary Education Center will exist to provide quality education to our children. To God be the glory!
